Lady of the Lake

For Illustration Master Class, I chose to do an illustraion of the Lady of the Lake. And then I wasted a bunch of time watching westerns and suddenly decided to add a western theme.

Here's the whole progression from thumbnails to preliminary sketches to the painting underway. I haven't finished it yet. It's my first attempt at illustrating in oils so I'm learning a lot!

devin - Yeah! I had a great time!

Jens - Thanks, man! They're fun to do so why not share right?

Sarah - Indeed... I think I need some for my apartment.

Zelda - Thanks! I'd done alla prima portraits and monochrome cast painting before in oils. This is the first time using color for a multi-sitting or using imagination at all.
